Lyons Township area 12U baseball team wins wood bat tournament

ST. CHARLES — On Sunday evening the Art Lehmann 12U Tigers Baseball Team defeated the Downers Grove Longshots, 6-5, to win the St. Charles Slamin' Wood Bat Tourney.

Comprised of all-stars from Western Springs, La Grange, La Grange Park and Westchester, the team is led by Art Lehmann whose son Keith Lehmann is a senior standout for the Lyons Township High School baseball team.

This marks the team's first championship this year. In April, the team placed 2nd at the Ft. Wayne, Spring Swing Baseball Tournament.
