Lisle softball fights losing streak ahead of regional opener
LISLE – Lisle softball fell to Westmont, 3-0, on Monday, and the reasons for the defeat were easy to see.
“We didn’t make the adjustments at the plate,” Lisle coach Jen Pomatto said. “We chased bad pitches and they capitalized on a couple of our mistakes.”
Playing for the first time since a 15-4 loss to Seneca on April 30, the Lions (10-7 overall, 6-7 Interstate Eight Conference) committed three errors that led to three unearned runs for Westmont. And they couldn’t solve Westmont pitcher Kristen Skala, who struck out 14 batters en route to tossing a no-hitter. Lisle starter Summer Stitt allowed just two hits, but suffered the loss.
