LISLE – Lisle Park District’s annual Battle of the Bands again featured some of the top young musical talent in the area Friday night.

About 75 people came out to see five bands rock out onstage at Lisle High School’s auditorium, said to Mike Gianatasio, recreation program manager with the Lisle Park District.

“It was a good turnout; we’re usually around that mark,” he said.

“Every year, I am always surprised of the high talent level of some of these young musicians,” he said.

Competing bands were Verdico, Double Identity, Punch, 4th Point and Next Last Night. Verdico was named the winner of the contest.

Verdico now moves on to a regional Battle of the Bands on July 27 in Wheaton.

“There are four regional state competitions, and the winner of those goes on to compete at the Illinois State Fair,” Gianatasio said.
