Downers Grove Village Council to swear in new members Tuesday night

Published: Tuesday, May 7, 2013 1:20 p.m. CDT

DOWNERS GROVE – The Downers Grove Village Council will swear in its two newly elected members at its Tuesday night meeting and say goodbye to two longtime commissioners.

The council will greet first-time commissioners David Olsen and Greg Hosé at the 7 p.m. meeting, and incumbent Bob Barnett, who was re-elected. Commissioners serve four-year terms.

The April election unseated six-term commissioner Marilyn Schnell, who finished in fourth.

Also saying goodbye Tuesday night is Commissioner Willam Waldack, who has served since 2005 and did not run for re-election this spring.

The agenda has no new discussion items because of the transitioning council.

"We get right back in the thick of things next week," Mayor Martin Tully said.
