Morton softball’s 5-0 week tempered by key injury
CICERO – Just as the news was getting good for Morton softball, potentially devastating news hit.
The Mustangs went 5-0 last week to stay on the heels of Downers Grove South in the West Suburban Gold and are playing their best ball of the season. The bad news is that catcher Jenna Boyajian had a knee injury and could miss significant time depending on the severity.
Boyajian is a three-year starter behind the plate and a key bat in the middle of the order so missing her would be a big blow to the Mustangs. Coach Tom Eukovich said she is having an MRI and expects to hear the results Wednesday.
