Police: Brookfield woman charged with DUI was celebrating license return
RIVERSIDE – A Brookfield woman facing felony driving under the influence of alcohol charges told police she was drinking to celebrate the return of her driving privileges after losing them due to a previous DUI, according to a news release from the Riverside Police Department.
Erin James, 58, of Brookfield, was stopped by Riverside police for speeding at 2:10 a.m. Friday in the 3400 block of South Harlem Avenue and charged with felony aggravated DUI.
James failed field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest, police said. A breath sample revealed her blood alcohol content to be 0.155, nearly twice the legal limit.
