Developer plans supportive-living facility along Lacey Road in Downers Grove

DOWNERS GROVE – A developer proposing a senior living facility on Lacey Road is inviting neighbors to a town hall meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday at The Lincoln Center, 935 Maple Ave., room 202.

Delta Development is looking to build a supportive-living facility on a wooded lot at 4200 Lacey Road.

No details were provided about the project, and the contact person at Delta was not immediately available for comment.

A flyer advertising the meeting states Delta wants neighbors to make suggestions and provide opinion on possible landscaping, streetscape and the overall appearance of the project.

Last week, village officials said the developer had submitted a partially-completed application for the project, and it had not yet been scheduled for technical review or placed on any village meeting agendas.

One neighbor, Susan Wall, is already vocally opposed to the development. She is concerned with the amount of traffic and other congestion a large assisted-living facility would bring to her neighborhood.

"My property's value is going to go down," she said.
