Bolingbrook Park District hosts online safety program

BOLINGBROOK – The Bolingbrook Park District is hosting a class teaching children the importance of Internet responsibility and social media safety.

From 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. May 23 at the Annerino Community Center, "How to Stay Safe Online - A Family Guide" will provide children, teens and adults with the tools and information needed to prevent online threats.

Attendees will Learn how to control Facebook, Instagram and Skype settings and profiles. Valuable techniques will be taught to ensure children are safe and protected from unwanted online contact.

Topics include cyber bullying tactics, sexting, "always on" social media and avoiding predators. Instructors will teach the class how Keep your data private and understand how to close leaks in home network.

Program fee is $38 per family or $25 with Resident ID. For more information, call 630-739-0272.
