ELMHURST – Elmhurst College will host an American Cancer Society Relay For Life on Friday in the Physical Education Center, 190 S. Prospect Ave., Elmhurst.

The overnight event starts at 6 p.m. and wraps up at 6 a.m. Saturday. Opening ceremonies will begin at 6 p.m., followed by a survivor walk.

Relay For Life aims to raise money for cancer research and cancer patients. Organizers also work to spread cancer awareness, celebrate survivors and remember those who lost their lives to cancer.

The most recent counts suggest the Elmhurst College relay has already raised nearly $17,000 and has at least 344 registered participants.
