Villa Park police to host education meeting for seniors

VILLA PARK – Members of the Villa Park Police Department will host a quarterly meeting of the Seniors and Law Enforcement Together (SALT) program at 11 a.m. May 15 at the Wildwood Community Center, 320 E. Wildwood Ave.

This meeting will focus on helping seniors develop practical strategies to deal with unwanted or unwelcome solicitors. Participants will learn about state and local laws regarding solicitors and ways to protect themselves and others from disturbances, fraud or scams.

Anyone interested in meeting with one of the police department's specially-trained Elderly Service officers can call Sgt. Tyson Johnson at 630-592-6109.
