CAROL STREAM – Glenbard North High School is inviting the community out for a night on the town to catch its production of “25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee” before the production ends May 4.

The play opened May 2. Those interested still can catch a performance Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at the Glenbard North Theatre, 990 Kuhn Road in Carol Stream.

“25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee” promises a mix of heartfelt sentiment and laughs. The play is set in a school gymatorium and takes a look at the pressures of growing during those “awkward years” and competing for the title of spelling bee champ.

Tickets for the final performances cost $9 and can be reserved by calling 630-681-3399.

The cast includes Jason Eisentrout, Sienna Crosby, Kyle Schwichtenberg, Tony Calkins, Alissa Kanturek, Amanda Moy, Lizzie Dahlquist, Bilal Rizbi, Sean Jones, Devin Asperger, Ryan Fogarty, Amy Peter and Alex Nauert. Many other students also contributed to the performance as set designers and manager, handling everything from publicity to painting.
