Hillside resident celebrates a century of life with 100th birthday

Hazel Jones, of Hillside, will celebrate her 100th birthday on May 3.

HILLSIDE – Family and friends were always excited to find out what Hazel Jones would cook next.

Jones, who will turn 100 on May 3, worked in food services at McCormick Place in Chicago for many years, and she brought her cooking skills home. Born in Little Rock, Ark., Jones has lived at Oakridge Healthcare Center since September 2010 and continues to be an active member of the Baptist church.
