Forest Hills' students honored for Arbor Day essays

WESTERN SPRINGS – Hundreds of students wrote essays on the topic, "Why Should We Celebrate Arbor Day?" and were honored April 26 during Bill Lipinski's All-American Eagles' Arbor Day Essay and Tree Planting Award Ceremony.

Six students from Chicago-area schools were honored, including sixth, seventh and eighth-grade students from Forest Hills School.

The first and second-place winners were awarded a special All-American Eagle trophy, and the school with the most participation received a check for the school.

The next Eagles' event is a Flag Day essay contest on June 14. The deadline for the event is 10 a.m.June 5, and the topic is, “What Does The American Flag Mean To Me?”  For more information, contact Bart Frost at 773-582-7477.
