ELMHURST – Three Elmhurst residents are searching for their pet iguana that may have attacked its thief last week.

At 6:54 p.m. April 24, the residents, of the 500 block of West Alexander Boulevard, reported their 3.5-foot iguana had been stolen. After searching the house, the victims concluded someone entered their unlocked front door and stole the iguana while it was sunbathing in the front window, police said.

According to police reports, the victims saw blood droplets on the porch floor and on envelopes in their mailbox. They believe the suspect was clawed or bitten while allegedly taking the iguana.
