Chicago woman accused of setting fire in Riverside apartment
RIVERSIDE – A Chicago woman was charged with aggravated arson Sunday after a fire was set in a Riverside apartment, police said.
Police were called to the apartment building on the 2900 block of Harlem Avenue to respond to a fire. A tenant of the building told officers he was awakened by a fire alarm, police said.
Another tenant discovered a small fire in a planter, and officers were alerted to a fire burning in an apartment on the second floor, police said. Members of the Riverside Fire Department responded to the scene and extinguished the blaze, police said.
