Mike Fugiel will be presented as the District 2 trustee candidate during Thursday's Board of Trustees meeting, where the board will be responsible for approving the appointment.

LOMBARD – During Thursday night's Board of Trustees meeting, Keith Giagnorio, Lombard's village president-elect, will present Mike Fugiel as his choice to fill the District 2 trustee seat.

Giagnorio vacated his District 2 trustee seat when he was elected to the village president position, and now is responsible for selecting someone to fill the seat. He received applications from three interested candidates and chose to present Fugiel to the board.

Fugiel has lived in District 2 for 15 years and served as the executive director of the Lombard Park District from 1997 to 2007. He has his bachelor's and master's degrees in education from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. Locally, he is involved in the Rotary Club of Lombard and the Glenbard East Athletic Boosters Association.

He will be presented to the Board of Trustees for approval during the scheduled meeting at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Village Hall.
