Man injured, charged after punching through window in Berwyn

BERWYN – A 26-year-old man was charged with reckless conduct after he punched through a storm door, causing injury to a woman standing on the other side of the door shortly before 8 p.m. April 21.

James L. Cochara, 2624 S. Grove Ave., appeared at the residence in the 1900 block of South Euclid Avenue and was arguing with his girlfriend through the door of the residence. He punched through the window of the door, shattering the window and causing injury to to another resident who was standing close to the door.

The woman was taken to Oak Park Hospital for treatment of her injuries. Cochara fled.

Cochara later contacted police from the 2200 block of Oak Park Avenue to report he was injured . Police and fire officials responded to Cochara's call and he was taken to MacNeal Hospital for treatment of his injuries.
