WOODRIDGE - Woodridge police are investigating a suspicious incident involving a man approaching a 9-year-old girl in the 6400 block of Macarthur Drive on Friday.

Police said a man in his mid 20s driving an older gold Chevrolet sedan pulled up next to the girl around 1:25 p.m. and asked her "if she wanted candy and told her to come to the car to get it."

The victim ran away to her babysitter's house nearby, according to police.

An adult resident in the area witnessed the incident, police said.

Woodridge police ask the public that if a vehicle matching the description is observed in the area call 9-1-1.

Police remind all residents to report any suspicious activity in their neighborhoods as well.
