BROOKFIELD – Want to add a new member to the family? How about one with a fuzzy face and a wagging tail?
Frisky Dog, 9216 47th St., Brookfield, will host its Spring Adoption Fair from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on May 5.
The adoption fair offers potential adopters an opportunity to visit with many of the area’s shelters and rescue organizations in one place. Frisky Dog makes it easy to find the perfect friend for the family this way.
If you’re a cat lover, don’t worry. It won’t only be dogs available at the fair. Cats will be available for adoption as well.
In addition, local veterinarians also will be on hand to offer information about keeping any current and future pets as healthy as possible.
“We’re excited to host this adoption event so that many rescue organizations can show off their available pets,” said Ross Rolando, general manager of Frisky Dog and co-owner.
This is the fourth adoption event Frisky Dog has held. More than 35 dogs have been able to find homes so far.
Frisky dog’s commitment to supporting adopted dogs doesn’t end with the close of the fair, organizers say. Many of the puppies and dogs adopted through these events come back for training classes, play care and grooming.
“It’s so rewarding to watch these dogs grow and know that they found their perfect home through an event that we hosted,” Rolando said.
Participating shelters include Oak Park Animal Care League, South Suburban Humane Society, Rover Rescue and Sugar Kittens Cat Rescue.
Local veterinarians attending include VCA La Grange and Green Paws Animal Hospital.
