DOWNERS GROVE – Due to popular demand, District 58 and the Downers Grove Public Library will host an additional Digital Learning Workshop session for interested parents and community members at 1 p.m. May 6 at the library, 1050 Curtiss St.
The workshop will focus on how digital devices can be used to support learning.
Participants will learn about the unique opportunities that digital tools provide, including executive functioning skills such as calendaring, task management, reminders, communication, and organization, as well as apps for creating and making connections.
Additionally, because of the partnership with the Downers Grove Public Library, parents can learn more about accessing the library's digital materials, including ebooks, e-magazines and online databases. The workshops also will address Internet safety and digital citizenship.
Participants are asked to bring a device if they have one, but it is not required. For more information about the workshops, contact Technology Director Scott Meech at email@example.com or Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction Matthew Rich at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The district also has launched a new Parent Tech Support page: www.dg58.org/parenttechsupport
