Spring might be finally here. When we dry out from all the rain, the Brookfield Chamber of Commerce will be in full swing with events for 2013.
Our next event will be our annual Old Fashioned Street Dance, which takes place May 18. It is a wonderful event where we create a community block party to welcome in the warm weather and celebrate with our neighbors. We will have our resident DJ Toby Rhodes spinning records, and the Chamber businesses will offer food and refreshments for purchase as well.
The dance will be held on Broadway Avenue at Eight Corners from 5 to 11 p.m.
Residents also should mark their calendars for June 1, when The Brookfield Chamber of Commerce will open its seasonal farmers market. Fresh-roasted coffee, pastries, organic veggies, meats and cheeses will be on hand for residents to purchase. You should come for the food and stay for the fun! The farmers market once again will be located in the parking lot just west of the Brookfield Village Hall, and it will be held every Saturday from June 1 through Oct. 27. We think we have one of the best farmers markets around, and it keeps growing every year.
Spring is here, and it is a great time to live and work in Brookfield. Try and get out and enjoy what the community and the local businesses have to offer.
