ADDISON – Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn announced on Thursday the construction of a new bridge near Addison with more than $1.5 million in capital investments behind it.

Part of the governor's $31 billion "Illinois Job Now!" program, the bridge project will remove and replace the structure carrying Fuller Avenue over Salt Creek between Villa and Central avenues.

Herlihy Mid-Continent Company of Romeoville won the contract with a quote of $1.58 million. The Illinois Department of Transportation will manage the project, which aims to improve traffic flow and increase employment.

Illinois Jobs Now! is the largest capital construction program in Illinois history and supports 439,000 jobs over six years, according to a news release.
