Good Samaritan Hospital invites residents to bring used electronics, shoes to recycling event

DOWNERS GROVE – Good Samaritan Hospital is inviting community members to bring old electronics and gym shoes to Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital to be recycled.

The collection area is in the brick paver parking lot F, located on the southeast corner of the hospital campus. Residents can enter off 39th Street and Wellness Way. Donations will be accepted from 2:30 to 6:30 p.m. Friday.

Acceptable items include: shoes, IT equipment, desktop computers and laptops, Apple products, flat screen and LCD computer monitors, hard drives, printers, cables, wiring, mice, keyboards, routers, modems and other similar peripherals.

Other accepted items include: household and kitchen appliances, air conditioners, humidifiers, copiers, scanners, fax machines, phones.

Audio-visual equipment such as camcorders, digital cameras, speakers, small TVs, VCRs, DVD players, projectors, GPS and navigation systems and stereos will also be accepted.

ACME Electronics Recycling will provide data destruction processes for all hard drives, ensuring full compliance with data privacy regulations.

Items not accepted are: car batteries, any item with a harmful chemicals, large TVs, CRT monitors and CRT TVs.
