ADDISON — Addison Trail baseball would be happy not to face a team with “Downers Grove” on its jersey anytime soon.

The Blazers got swept by Downers Grove South in a three-game West Suburban Gold series and lost to Downers Grove North 12-0 in a WSC crossover on Wednesday.

AT got back on the winning track with a 15-9 win over Glenbard West on Thursday. Rocco Constabile had two hits, three RBIs and three runs in the WSC crossover.

AT fell to 4-5 in the Gold after losing all three to the conference leading Mustangs.

DGS won Game 1 12-0 behind a two-hitter from Brian Glowicki. Jordan Garcia and Mike Cacciopo tallied the hits for the Blazers.

Nick Rybarczyk was 2-for-4 in Game 2, but the Blazers still fell 9-3. AT scored a run in the top of the first to take the lead, but DGS went off for seven runs in the first two innings.

In the series finale Monday in Addison, the Blazers got to Iowa-recruit Zach Burdi. Burdi allowed six runs in four innings and AT took a 6-4 lead into the seventh inning.

The Mustangs rallied for four runs in the top of the seventh to reclaim the lead. AT drew three of its 10 walks in the seventh inning to get within a run and load the bases, but DGS got the final out to complete the sweep.

On Wednesday, the Blazers managed just one hit in the 12-0 five-inning loss to DGN.

AT hosts Leyden in a doubleheader on Saturday before playing the finale on the road. Leyden is 1-8 in the Gold.
