LEMONT – A group of Lemont High School students will compete in the National High School Skyscraper Challenge division at the 2013 Mock Firms Architectural Competition, according to a news release from District 210.

The competition, sponsored by Chicago Architecture Today, is taking place Thursday and Friday. LHS competitors include Brian Dirst, Szymon Krzeptowski-Mucha, Scott Matulik, Bryan Shamasko, Ray Stieber and Justin Stanwyck, all of whom are students in the high school's Advanced CAD III Honors class.

The team has been challenged to brainstorm, build and market a medical building located in downtown Chicago meant to provide services in various sectors of the medical community.

Each team will present its structure to a panel of judges. The presenters from LHS intend to incorporate visual aids such as drawings, a YouTube video and a scale model.

LHS has earned several Mock Firm accolades in past years, including “Top Model Presentation,” “Top Firm Organization” and “Top Engineer Firm.”
