DOWNERS GROVE – The Rotary Club of Downers Grove will show several free screenings of the critically acclaimed documentary film "Genetic Roulette" May 4 at the Downers Grove Public Library.

Produced by the Institute for Responsible Technology, "Genetic Roulette" exposes how the use of genetically modified organisms (GMOs) in our nation's food supply may be a contributing factor to rising disease rates in the U.S., a release states.

GMOs have been a hot topic in recent years, according to a release.

This past November, California voted on Proposition 37, which would have mandated the labeling of genetically modified foods. Proposition 37 was defeated by voters.

Screenings will be offered at 10 a.m., 12:30 p.m., and 3:00 p.m. May 4.

No ticket purchase is required, and there is no fee for admission.

The Downers Grove Public Library is located at 1050 Curtiss St.

For additional information, contact the Downers Grove Rotary Club at 630-729-0351 or Rotary member Chris Maholy at 630-324-6019.
