DG Roadrunners clean up at St. Louis soccer tourney

DOWNERS GROVE — Five Downers Grove Roadrunners Soccer Club teams were semifinalists, four played for championship and one took home a title at the Scott Gallagher tournament in St. Louis.

The U14 Select boys team won its first three games by a combined score of 11-1, then outlasted O'Fallon Kixx Blue 2-1 to bring home the title.

The U15 and U12 Select boys and the U10 Black boys were all played in championship games and finished second.

The U13 Select girls team started the tournament with two shutout wins, and despite falling in its third game advanced to the semifinals as a wildcard before suffering a defeat to end the tournament.
