Dates set for Lisle's 31st annual Eyes to the Skies fest, country night planned
LISLE – The dates for the 31st annual Lisle Eyes to the Skies festival are set for this summer: July 3-6.
The Lisle Eyes to the Skies Festival Committee announced the dates for the popular hot air balloon festival this week.
This year’s visitors to the festival, held at Lisle Community Park, can expect daily launches of hot air balloons and balloon glows, carnival, a large craft fair, live music, four nights of fireworks, food court and more, according to a release.
This year's festival will also include a performance by the "ultimate country music cover band" The Suburban Cowboys on Saturday, July 6.
"This explosive show is designed for country fans that love to dance!" the release states. "The set list covers your top 40 country as well as some classic country jams and is full of energy and excitement."
Originally the brainchild of Dick Dooley, then superintendent of recreation for the Lisle Park District, the event was initiated to mark Lisle’s Sesqui-Centennial in 1982.
More than 300 Lisle residents now volunteer to help the event, which attracts an attendance each year of more than 150,000.
