Cullerton working on gun owners' rights

SPRINGFIELD — State Sen. Tom Cullerton, D-Villa Park, is working with legislators in Springfield to help protect the interests of suburban gun owners, according to a news release from his office.

Cullerton has joined a firearms working group that is working to discuss options for concealed carry gun legislation. Currently, Illinois is the only state with a complete ban on concealed carry, but last year, the ban was struck down by a federal court. Illinois legislators were given 180 days to create a new concealed carry law.

This deadline is in June.

Cullerton serves as senator for the 23rd District, which includes Villa Park, Bartlett, Addison, Bloomingdale, Glendale Heights, Itasca, Lombard, Roselle and Wood Dale.
