Elmhurst’s York High School ranked No. 29 in Illinois

ELMHURST – York Community High School ranks No. 29 on the most recent Best High Schools in Illinois list put out by U.S. News and World Report.

York High School provides students with the opportunity to take Advanced Placement courses and tests. Thirty-nine percent of York’s 2,623 students participate in such programs.

U.S. News and World Report uses a variety of criteria to rank schools, including student-to-teacher ratios and test scores.

York also is one of only 50 silver-medal schools. U.S. News and World Report considers a school’s overall student performance as part of the criteria for awarding medals. York’s state performance index is 93.

York High School also ranks 809th on the national Best High Schools list.
