More than $30K in jewelry taken in burglary of Downers Grove jewelry store

DOWNERS GROVE – Between $30,000 and $35,000 in jewelry was reported stolen in a Thursday afternoon burglary of Dariusz Jewelers, police said.

Downers Grove police responded to an alarm at 2:21 p.m. Thursday at the business, 5121 Main Street, and discovered that the front glass door was broken.

The business owner gave the initial estimate of missing jewelry to police, but said he would need to do an inventory to determine the exact loss.

Police did not provide any suspects.
