OAK BROOK — An autopsy was performed last week on a body found floating in the Salt Creek at Graue Mill, but the decomposition was so bad the man could not immediately be identified.
“It was in bad shape due to advanced decomposition,” said Lt. Howard Oller of the DuPage County Forest Preserve District Police Department, who was present for the autopsy. “The decomposition was so advanced they couldn’t even get fingerprints.”
Oller said there was a wallet present with the body, but it did not help identify the individual.
The body was found by a pedestrian April 18, who had reported it to an Oak Brook police officer nearby.
Samples from the autopsy are being analyzed.
