LEMONT – Registration is open for the Walk with Andrew 5K.

The event was organized by the Lemont High School Wellness Committee. It is a noncompetitive fundraiser for sophomore Andrew Podczerwinski, according to a news release from Lemont High School District 210.

Podczerwinski lost the use of his legs last summer when a tree fell on him in the midst of a storm. An honor student with a positive outlook, he is in physical therapy, working to regain the ability to walk.

“Walk with Andrew” will take place 10 a.m. April 28 at the Lemont High School football field.

To register, visit and download the registration form. The registration fee is $20 and includes a Walk with Andrew T-shirt. In order to guarantee T-shirt availability, registrations must be received by April 19.

Walk-up registration will begin at 9 a.m. on the day of the event.

For questions regarding registration, call LHS Guidance Counselor Denise Dalton at 630-243-3241.
