RIVERSIDE – Students from Riverside Brookfield High School will be heading home early today, some with fire department personnel as escorts. Likewise, students in District 96 will also be headed home early.

Currently all roads to the high school are closed due to flooding.

Students attending RB and District 96 schools will be released at 12:15 p.m. today.

All high school students who live in Riverside east of First Avenue will be escorted by fire department personnel from the high school to the intersection of Forest Avenue and Kimbard Road. Students who are unable to walk will be escorted to the northeast parking lot of Brookfield Zoo, near the north entrance on 31st Street.

District 96 will follow normal dismissal procedures. Police will be on hand for traffic control.

A planned open house tonight at Ames School has been canceled. District 96 officials said they will make a decision later tonight whether school will be in session tomorrow.
