Published: Thursday, April 18, 2013 2:56 p.m. CDT

Tibbott Elementary School has planned a wide variety of activities, culminating with the annual community Multicultural Fair Friday, May 10.

Next week, following the arrival of National Geographic’s giant map of Europe which will be placed on the floor of the Bolingbrook school’s gym, each class will have an opportunity to learn about the continent by not only visiting the map but also by using interactive materials to further their knowledge.

At 6:15 p.m. Thursday, April 25, parents and community members are invited to PTO Family Movie Night and Family Map Night, featuring geography-related activities.

Ten days later, beginning 6:30 p.m. Monday, May 6, the school is sponsoring an Ethnic Dinner. Participants are invited to bring a dish to share with other Tibbott families, and to view a slideshow of Tibbott events. The evening will also include a preview of international country displays students have created for the Multicultural Fair.

At 6:30 p.m. May 10, The Multicultural Fair will include displays and activities featuring representations from dozens of countries; entertainment will be provided by students, staff and several visiting performers.
