Lisle declares state of emergency due to flooding

Flooding from this week's storms submerged the grounds surrounding Sea Lion Aquatic Park on Friday, April 19 at Lisle Community Park, just south of Short Street.

LISLE - Village of officials have declared a state of emergency in Lisle due to the flooding.

According to a release from the village, residents or employees needing to evacuate their homes or businesses are advised to use the Krasa Center at Benedictine University if they require shelter.

The Krasa Center is located on the campus of Benedictine University at College Road and Maple Avenue. Entrance to the center can be made off of College Road.

"Due to the extensive flooding residents, commuters, and visitors are advised to avoid unnecessary travel," the statement reads. "The Lisle Police Department also advises of the dangers of attempting to drive or walk through standing or flood waters. Waters can vary in depth and current causing vehicles or people to be swept away."
