Bass fishing sectionals among mass sports postponements

Area flooding puts spring sports season on hold

WESTERN SUBURBS — Severe flooding in the western suburbs has caused a mass of high school sports cancelations for Thursday and this weekend's outdoor activities are in question.

According to the IHSA's website the bass fishing sectional originally scheduled for Saturday have been postponed.

Area schools were involved at the sectional scheduled at the Busse Woods Reservoir, which adjoins Elk Grove Village and Schaumburg, and the Des Plaines Conservation Area in Wilmington.

Glenbard West, West Chicago, Wheaton North, St. Francis and Wheaton Warrenville South are the area schools at Busse Woods.

Hinsdale South, Downers Grove North, Downers Grove South, IC Catholic, York, Hinsdale Central, Lemont, Benet, Fenwick and Westmont are the area schools at the Des Plaines Conservation Area.
