Panel to drop electioneering claims against Burr Ridge's Straub
BURR RIDGE — It's an accusation that Burr Ridge Village President-elect Mickey Straub called "petty and unfortunate."
The DuPage County Election Commission claimed Straub was in violation of electioneering April 9. Electioneering, or attempting to persuade voters, is not allowed to happen within a 100-foot radius of the poll room, said Joseph Sobecki, assistant director of the commission.
Paul Darrah, spokesman with the DuPage County State's Attorney's Office, said there will not be any action taken by the office against Straub. Darrah said the issue had been addressed and Straub was "compliant."
