Lombard Historical Society to host mid-century fashion show

Published: Tuesday, April 16, 2013 12:00 p.m. CDT

LOMBARD — Fashion enthusiasts can learn about the popular styles from the 1950s, '60s and '70s — as well as obtain an understanding for how today's fashion was influenced by vintage clothing — during the "Mad for Fashion" fashion show fundraiser for the Lombard Historical Society.

The event will begin at 2 p.m. April 21 at the First Church Multitorium in Lombard.

The show's name was inspired by the TV show "Mad Men" and will showcase popular fashions from the mid-20th century, along with today's trends that have vintage influences.

This event is co-sponsored by the Lombard Historical Society, The Ladies Room in Lombard and Vision for the Art of Hair in Bloomingdale.

The fashion show will feature a light lunch and refreshments, and swag bags for the first 100 people to purchase tickets. Tickets cost $25 a person and can be purchased by calling the Lombard Historical Society at 630-629-1885 or going online to lombardhistory.org.

All proceeds will benefit the historical society.
