DuPage election website may see increased bandwidth after Election Day problems

WHEATON – After visitors to the DuPage County Election Commission website experienced problems April 9 when attempting to monitor local election returns, officials plan to double the county system's bandwidth, according to media reports.

The technology committee of the DuPage County Board has supported the bandwidth increase. If board members approve the $22,000 expenditure the increase would require, the additional bandwidth would be in place in about one or two months. The $22,000 also would pay for service enhancements.

On the night of the consolidated elections last week, commission staff members emailed poll returns to those unable to access the information on the website.
