Roadrunners split opening conference doubleheader
Nazareth looks to respond after tough schedule delivers first loss
ARLINGTON HEIGHTS — Nazareth baseball tries to play a tough non-conference schedule, but there’s nothing like the East Suburban Catholic Conference for the Roadrunners.
Nazareth entered Saturday’s doubleheader at St. Viator undefeated, but that changed after the Lions and Roadrunners split. The Roadrunners won Game 1 9-2 but dropped Game 2 6-2.
“We talk a lot about the different parts of the season,” said Nazareth coach Lee Milano. “Our conference is so demanding. It’s so difficult. Every game is a tough game. I think they’re excited to be in the conference.”
