Department of Agriculture to perform moth prevention aerial spray
LEMONT – The Illinois Department of Agriculture will conduct aerial treatments to control European gypsy moth populations in Lemont starting in May, according to a letter from the department posted on the village's website.
Helicopters and airplanes will be used to apply materials that will control EGM life cycles and distribute a mating disruption pheromone.
Forested areas and residential and agricultural areas with a high tree density will be subject to application.
