Diversity is a key to Cicero’s success
Cicero has a predominantly Mexican American population, but it also has a strong commitment to diversity.
Each ethnic group in our community makes a significant contribution to the success of our programs and our services to residents.
My administration is therefore committed to diversity and ensuring that all communities are engaged and represented. For example, in the past, I was proud to appoint Maria Punzo-Arias – the first Mexican American to the post of Cicero clerk. In the past eight years, nearly 70 percent of the town’s new hires have been Hispanic, reflecting our region’s ethnic mix.
