DOWNERS GROVE – Police are looking for a newer model gray truck with a Chicago Bears decal on the driver side and passenger side windows after the driver allegedly motioned for a young girl riding her bike to come to the window.

The 8-year-old girl was riding her bike Sunday in the 4600 block of Sherwood Avenue, when the truck pulled up and the male driver rolled down the window, motioning for her to come toward the vehicle, police said.

The girl then turned and rode her bike back to her residence. The male never spoke to the girl and his intentions are unknown at this time.

Police are attempting to locate the male driver, whose description is unknown. Also present in the vehicle at the time was a female passenger with red or orange colored hair and a brown and white dog.

Downers Grove police are requesting for anyone with information to call the department at 630-434-5600 or 9-1-1.
Police also asked residents to remind children to beware of strangers and report any concerns immediately to police.
