DOWNERS GROVE – Voters picked the four active candidates for four open seats on the District 99 School Board. All precincts have reported.

Voters did not elect the two candidates who dropped out late and were unable to have their names removed from ballots.

Julia Beckman led with about 19 percent of the vote. Deb Boyle followed with about 18.9 percent. Teresa Pavesich had about 18.4 percent and Rick Pavinato had about 17.6 percent, according to unofficial results from the DuPage County Election Commission.

Despite having dropped out of the race, both Martin Gorski and Henry Jakobsze both have a sizable percentage of votes. Gorski claimed about 13.9 percent; Jakobsze had 12.2 percent.

If either Gorski or Jakobsze had been elected to the board and then followed through with their intent not to serve, the board would have had 45 days to select a replacement. The board would not have had to appoint from among the other, active candidates.
