WESTERN SPRINGS – Public Works crews were at the site of two water main breaks in Western Springs on Monday morning.

The first occurred at 5275 Crestview Drive, the village posted on its website at 8:49 a.m. A JULIE (Joint Utility Locating Information for Excavators) check was conducted to make sure there was no leak before crews excavated a portion of the road. An update posted at 9:59 a.m. said the break had been repaired. Residents near the site might have cloudy water coming out of their faucets because of stirred sediment in the pipe. If residents notice cloudy water, the village recommends that they run the lowest level of cold water until its appearance turns clear.

The second break was at 41st Street and Linden Avenue, the village announced at 9:41 a.m. Public Works crews were heading there after completing repairs at the first site.

A Public Works official didn't have any information about the cause of the breaks.
