Police release information on formerly missing Hinsdale teen

Faith C. Shirley, 16, of Hinsdale, was reported missing on Monday, April 8.

HINSDALE — Police provided updated information on Monday afternoon about Faith Shirley, who was reported as missing from Hinsdale and located in Chicago at 8 a.m. Saturday.

The 16-year-old Hinsdale resident appeared unharmed, police said, and at this point in the investigation it appears she left the Institute in Basic Life Principles on Ogden Avenue voluntarily at 12:15 a.m. April 8, where she was last seen.

Faith was reunited with her family on Saturday morning.

Police said any additional information regarding Faith's activity will not be disclosed, as the investigation into her whereabouts during this timeframe is still ongoing. No foul play was suspected.

Hinsdale Deputy Police Chief Mark Wodka reported the department is pleased with the assistance of the community in providing tips, and also appreciative of the cooperation and efforts of staff at the Institute in Basic Life Principles.
