Lombard man charged after alleged shooting threat
LOMBARD — A Lombard man who allegedly posted messages on Facebook threatening to perform a “Columbine”-type shooting at the DuPage County Courthouse in Wheaton was arrested by police last week in Denver after an investigation by the DuPage County Sheriff’s Office.
Daniel McDade, 31, of the 2700 block of South Highland Avenue, was arrested by Denver police and charged with one felony count of threatening a public official and one felony count of disorderly conduct after detectives from the sheriff’s office acted on a tip that McDade allegedly had made threats to cause harm and violence at the county courthouse, police said.
On March 31, McDade received notice that he needed to appear at the courthouse on April 4 for a drug test, as a condition of his bail. McDade had previously been charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and ordered by the court to refrain from using drugs or alcohol and to stay in Illinois.
