ELECTION 2013: Four newcomers elected to Center Cass District 66 School Board
DOWNERS GROVE – Newcomers Tracey Edwards, Glenn Olsen, Liane Raso and Steven Vena are the fresh faces coming to the Center Cass School District 66 School Board.
The four challengers beat two other candidates, including the race's lone incumbent Mark Motuelle, in Tuesday's election.
Tracey Edwards finished in first with about 19.3 percent of the vote and Glenn Olsen finished second with about 18 percent. Liane Raso finished third with about 16.3 percent and Steven Vena took the final seat with about 16.3 percent of the vote, according to unofficial results from the DuPage County Election Commission.
Motuelle was not re-elected. He finished fifth with about 15.5 percent. Michael Mandziara finished last with about 14.63 percent.
Following the election, the board will choose its president, vice president and treasurer from the pool of elected board members, likely at the April 30 board meeting, according to district staff. Motuelle is currently treasurer.
The board's other three seats, including the board secretary, are not up for election this cycle.
Current board president Robert Koch, vice president Cathie Killian and board member Linda Millbrandt did not seek re-election.
School District 66 serves portions of Downers Grove, Darien and Woodridge.
It has three schools – Lakeview Junior High School, Prairie View School and Elizebeth Ide School.
