DOWNERS GROVE — Every Sonus Hearing Care Center, including its Downers Grove location at 6222 Main St., is offering complimentary hearing screenings in May for "Better Hearing Month."

About 48 million Americans experience some form of hearing loss, but only 13 percent of doctors screen for it, according to Sonus.

“Millions suffer from hearing loss but since it happens gradually, most people don't recognize the signs and eventually have it pointed out to them by a friend or family member,” Sonus Business Development Vice President Dr. Thomas J. Tedeschi said in a news release.

To make an appointment call the local facility at 630-474-2845.

Caregivers can take a short Sonus questionnaire by clicking here to decide if a hearing screening is necessary.
